Brandon Mick
Pastor of Worship/Discipleship
Who are you?
I am a follower of Jesus, a husband, a father of two girls, a seminary student, and a pastor.
What is your role at church?
I am the Pastor of Worship/Discipleship. I work with teams that oversee and lead the discipleship programming and worship ministries here at Connect Church. You’ll find me leading music on Saturday evenings at Refuge and on Sunday mornings at Connect. During the week you’ll likely find me in my office or one of the local coffee shops!
Finish this sentence: Jesus is…
Jesus is … the Son of God and is, himself, God in flesh—fully God and fully human. Jesus is my faithful Savior and gracious Lord who has defeated sin and death and given us a share in his life. By faith in Jesus, I confidently confess Q&A 1 of the Heidelberg Catechism:
Q. What is your only comfort in life and in death?
A. That I am not my own, but belong—body and soul, in life and in death—to my faithful Savior, Jesus Christ.
He has fully paid for all my sins with his precious blood, and has set me free from the tyranny of the devil. He also watches over me in such a way that not a hair can fall from my head without the will of my Father in heaven; in fact, all things must work together for my salvation.
Because I belong to him, Christ, by his Holy Spirit, assures me of eternal life and makes me wholeheartedly willing and ready from now on to live for him.
