Brad Meinders

Lead Pastor

Who are you?

Disciple of Jesus. Husband to Melanie. Father of Braden, Morgan, Brock, Maisy, & Beckett. As a boy, raised in Iowa. As a man, I owe all to Jesus who raised me to new life.

What is your role at church?

Every day I am grateful to be the Lead Pastor. This role gives me the privilege to preach the gospel of Jesus on Sundays, provide leadership in our mission to “Connect People to Jesus,” strategically plan with our Ministry Teams, disciple young and old alike, and witness how the Holy Spirit continues to transform people’s lives.

Finish this sentence: Jesus is…

Jesus is … surpassingly greater than anything and everything.  Knowing Him has transformed me as a person, and I desire for everyone to see His worth and stand in awe of Him with me.

“I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.  For His sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own … but that which comes through faith in Christ” (Philippians 3:8-9, ESV).

What is your favorite bakery item?

Toughest question yet. I would have to go for a “Bee Hive” at Jaarsma’s. Not a traditional Dutch treat, but so good and sweet.  Excuse me as I go exercise by making a bakery run!

Connect Church
This Sunday, our lent series entitled “His -> Ours -> Joy” starts! A familiar sight on Easter is children searching to possess eggs filled with candy. They look under bushes, in the grass, and on tree branches to find their Easter treasure. A familiar sight in life is for people searching to possess a treasure that comes to us because of Easter. Easter is about joy and true joy is something for which we search. Easter tells us the search is over, because joy is found in no other place but Jesus. During Lent (a timeframe of 40 days that leads us to Easter), we will spend time looking to Jesus, what He came to possess on our behalf (HIS) so that we can live in some amazing realities (OURS) that puts into our possession true JOY. Come and join the search for joy with us here at Connect!
