Executive Council _ COVID-19 Protocol Plan for Re-Entry (Finalized)
Connect Church is proceeding with making plans for an in-person worship gather next Sunday, May 31. Please note that we will still provide a service through the platforms of Facebook Live, the Connect Church website (connectchurchpella.org), and the radio. As you consider whether to worship in-person or online, read the following statement, issued last week, from The Marion County Health Department, who said there are three groups of people who should consider not attending mass worship gatherings, “a) Children 0-18 have been thought to have least likelihood to get COVID-19, until this week. Now it is unknown, as it has been reported in news that there is an outbreak of illness for children in the United States that is potentially being linked to COVID-19. There is little known about it at this time. This should be considered by church leadership to make the inclusion determination. b) Individuals 61 and older, and especially those with other health conditions should continue to protect themselves by staying at home and out of crowds. c) Anyone feeling unwell or with cough…. Even slightly “off” or over tired, and especially anyone with fever over 100.4.”
Please take this information seriously as you consider how to proceed with future in-person worship gatherings. That being said, if you deem it wise to gather for worship, the leadership of Connect Church has distributed via email and website a protocol that notes their expectations of how we will gather and every one who comes is asked to follow these guidelines. This is a difficult and awkward time and we continue to ask for patience and understanding as we navigate how to proceed and yet continue in our mission of connecting people to Jesus!
