The Spiritual Discipline of Simplicity

Loneliness is not just something people experience occasionally, but health experts are declaring loneliness an epidemic. Loneliness is a reality when a person is isolated but can also be felt when standing in a crowd of people. This is one reason belonging to a community is essential to human life and the life of the church. Community also helps shape us after Jesus. Dallas Willard once said, “Spiritual formation cannot, in the nature of the case, be a ‘private’ thing, because it is a matter of whole-life transformation. You need to seek out others in your community who are pursuing the renovation of the heart.” Through this sermon series, we will seek out what the Bible says about community as we encourage everyone to practice community with each other.
